HAM RADIO 2022 – meet the team
This young man is Petar, 9A7PP, aged 25. With his professional pilot license already under his belt, he’s currently doing a PhD at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences at the University of Zagreb.
An avid contester, he can often be heard from big-gun station 9A1A. When not playing radio (or chasing girls) he enjoys a game of tennis.
Come meet Petar at our booth: Hall A1-372.

9A3BCW Filip, aged 14, is nuts about CW. He’s also a keen contester, whatever the mode/frequency. You may have worked him on 2m from the Nova Gradiška Radio Club contest location on Psunj mountain, this weekend. Whilst not HSTing, he plays the electric guitar and piano (separately, at least for the time being).
Come rock with Filip at our booth: Hall A1 -372.
Mihaela, 9A3WW, licensed at the age of 15, she quickly found her place among the predominantly male team at 9A1A. Alongside Peter, she is responsible for the YOTA Summer Camp’s program.
HAM RADIO 2022 – meet the team
This young lady is Marija, 9A6PAX. Last heard on the air in 2016, she can be considered rare DX. Marija is Assistant Secretary at the Croatian Radio Amateur Association, responsible for its youth program and project coordinator of this year’s YOTA Summer Camp.
She lives and breathes for events such as this and sees this project as a stepping stone for something much larger for our country’s STEM students. Watch this space in the future for news in that department because with her enthusiasm, energy and stamina, success is almost guaranteed.
Beyond the above, Marija is a fan of foreign cuisine, socializing and the great outdoors.
Come meet Marija at our booth: Hall A1-372.
HAM RADIO 2022 – meet the team
Emil, 9A9A licensed since 1973, known locally as “the man with no suffix”, has competed at WRTC in 1996, 2000 and 2002!! Co-founder, mainstay operator and chief grass-cutter at 9A1A since 1992, his efforts (whether SO or MO) rarely place below 1st in the major contests.
Chairman of this year’s YOTA Summer Camp in Croatia, he brings many many years of experience to the party and is looking forward to welcoming the next generation of radio-amateurs to our beautiful country.
Come meet Emil at our booth: Hall A1-372
